Would I like to have a more united family? 3

My immediate family is very small (mother, father, siblings). I was not around my brother because he hit me physically when I was younger. He chased after me in action and hit me and hit me where I never looked back. It scared me, so I kicked it out of my life. I am now 26 years old and 3 years older.

My father is a veterinarian with a disability and lives in a group with another doctor and I try to see him once or twice a month. It's really hard to keep an eye on him because he has a lot of mental health issues and it breaks my heart to see him fight.

My mother is the only one I can count on and without her I would have no one in my family at the moment to take care of my problems.

I tried to contact my aunt and uncle in different states and my mother's mother and sister. Like every year, I send Christmas cards to everyone and never hear from them. It makes me sad, I feel rejected by them.

When I see my friends with their close family, where they have many cousins, aunts, uncles ... I get jealous because I want to. Why did I stop being so depressed about it?
