Indians are Indians.
Tzu of America is also called Indians.
But you see the euro being accused of making such an excuse, because they kept looking for unknown countries in search of a sea route to India and in fact kept looking for India. There was a time when the Greeks ruled the western world and called all Hindus Hindu Kush in the east of the mountains. That is why all Indians, regardless of their religion, are called Hindus.
But today it is wrong to call Indians Hindus because the ancient religion was called Hinduism and Hinduism was followed. People of all faiths are now part of the secular state of India.
