I am a former chef and there is a vegetable version of the mushroom and fish sauce used in Asian cooking to enhance the flavor of many dishes which does not have the taste of oyster as well as fish.

You can find both, and both are available in some supermarkets and most Asian supermarkets or specialty corn and soy stores. Sauce to thicken the pan.

It is a broth with oyster juice. It doesn't taste like fish, as others say, a little salty. To me, it tastes like fragrant sauce.

I use it to make fried rice or steamed vegetables (1 table). Many dishes come with cornbread sauce.

I also use it to make steak. Very good.

Use salt, pepper and garlic powder on your steak, then spread 1 well-filled oyster tea sauce on both sides of the steak.

Place the steaks on a hot grill or in a hot dripping pan. It really adds flavor to your stack.
